Ahhhh .. Now I Know!

I was always excited when i saw a pattern of blog readers coming from the States, especially from California. The pattern was like weekly occurrence. My thought was, "Mat Salleh mana la yang gemar sangat nak baca blog aku nih ...", or could it be my long lost friend whom now is a PR in California? Then suddenly, using my my always rational judgement *ehem* .. the true fact is *jeng jeng jeng* .. my dedicated reader is in FACT .. Mr Google himself!! Yes, Mr Google the Web Crawler lives in Mountain View, CA. p/s: I always thought i have "peminat setia" in CA *frust*  :-) .n.g.

This Blog Is Depressing?

Kind of funny because a reader pointed out that my blog is kind of depressing. Indeed i didn't realize it until yesterday. Ok, i will make it more interesting,up beating and joyous in 2010. But it is a good and constructive comment though :). regards,   .n.g.

SE7EN

i just love 7 .. and 7 is somehow very close to me .. It takes 7 days to forget someone or something It takes 7 days to start looking for someone or something new It takes 7 days to break someone's heart It takes 7 days to charm someone It takes 7 days for someone to miss u It takes 7 days for someone to realize that u are not around It takes 7 days for someone to be mad at u It takes 7 days for someone to forgive It takes 7 days for someone to come back to u It takes 7 days for someone to realized, he/she is NOT the ONE! and just another 7 days to a new decade .n.g.

The Devil Inside

Waahhh .. sound like a title of new movie .. except it is not. It is just another 10 days before the new year and i do annually recap back what had happened in the past years. Just like a bad VCR (OK i know some of you belum lahir masa technology VCR menjadi kegilaan in early 80's), my rewind tape had gone back to as old as mid 90s. Gosh, how i was stupid (and not wise) at that time and naive, ie lurus bendul. Today, i have learned that for every relationship, whether it is good or bad ones, there will always be a third person, literally a person who acts as a devil. And this devil acts in a such way because .. he's a devil. Let's flashback to those years. (waahh mcm hari in dlm sejarah (80's program on TV1 also)) 1995, Leeds, UK - I had a gf who lived across the road .. we were neighbours. One day she told me she wanted to meet a male friend in Manchester that she met on IRC (oh sape2 yg tak tahu pasal IRC go check on WIKI). I was so lurus bendul to let her go there s

Ego of a Man

Malik called me around 7pm and said "Ayah, can you buy me chocolate milk 'coz we don't have it here". I almost wanted to say to him that he could've asked the aunties to buy for him. Instead, as a good father (ehem) i said, "I will come and see you tomorrow and get you the chocolate milk as well". He hanged up and then i realized, he didn't call me because he wanted the chocolate milk, but because he missed me! Chocolate milk was just an excuse to call me and meeting me tomorrow. It seems that my son has started to show the sign of an ego as a man. A so much needed ego in every man ;-). A man will not normally tell a friend if he misses a friend especially a female friend. Sentences like "Jom lepak kat mamak for ..." and "Are you free for makan sedap?" are somehow rather how a man expresses his true feeling. Why is it so difficult for a man to express his feeling? One main reason is the awkwardness of knowing the other frien

Happy Birthday

Though we do not live under the same roof, you are very much close to my heart. And i know you are not a big fan of my blog, and have not even dropped by here, i still write this for you. Happy Birthday Norli Marwyne! .n.g. 12:07am 16-12-09

We Are Not Here!

If you are here to read Segala Teori by Nazim Ab Ghani, then we are not here at the moment. It is the utmost important for the owner of this blog to pulled off the plug until further notice. Please come and visit us very soon. Renung2kan dan selamat beramal! p/s: Bukan merajuk :) .n.g.

I've Got the Answer

Finally I can rest this one particular theory that I have for years in peace. It turned out very true, indeed. "We want something so badly because we know we would never have it." There you go. So now I have the answer, I am not confused anymore. I will sleep well tonight I hope. .n.g. 12:17am

My Untitled Rojak

I cant sleep until late morning. I took care of Luqman last night; while Malik and the baby were with the mom. So ini lah hasilnya. Chapter 1 Hari ni terasa nak tulis dlm bahasa rojak, so tak yah susah2 nak pikir pasal ayat2 cantik dan betul. kasi bantai je. Now nampaknya dah ramai yg dtg check blog yg tak seberapa ni .. but i guess some of them are regulars based on the patterns. My blog had reached 1000 visitors this week. So it was a personal achievement to me. Chapter 2 I am now reluctant to give any advice to anyone, not just yesterday, but for the last couple of months to few friends. My rationale, i could give advice to ppl but i couldn't even advice myself. And even yesterday, my mouth said something but my heart say something else. This unparalleled action felt so weird. i don't want to face that again by giving advice to anyone. it felt so weird. Mungkin lepas ni i bagi advice as in needed basis je .. boleh ke? Chapter 3 Some people think i spend so much t

How to Name a Baby

Image
If you think once the baby is born and you can take a deep breath, think again!! Finding a name for a new baby is as much as stressfull. You can do the easy way; combine your name with your spouse's name; use your grand father or grand mother's name, your good looking neighbour's name or even your boss's name (kiss ass baik punya :-)). But never never; use your ex-bf/gf, ex-fiancee or ex-husband/wife's name. No, never! Also, never use your regular postman's name either. The husband may suspect something fishy, yikes!! You can start finding the names now if you are single or married with no child. Why stress yourself after the baby is born? Renung2kan dan selamat beramal!! .n.g.

Babybot Has Landed

Image
I was sitting inside the Masjid for the Friday prayer, and my neck feel stiff, a sign of stress. I didn’t have much work at the office, so it couldn’t be that. My wife called at 5pm saying that she just had an appointment with the O&G doctor, and she said everything was fine. She stressed that her due date would be around 17th December. I always felt that it would be in the first week of December. She went back to her parent’s house and I as usual, went back to our house in Denai Alam. So I told her to give me a call if anything happened. It was 8pm when I received a missed call, and I return the call to the parent’s house, thinking she would be there. Then Lolo (my sister in-law) said, “She’s gone to the hospital, hurry!” So I rushed to Selangor Medical Centre, arrived there within 10 minutes. Went straight to the labour room and I said “I knew it it’s gonna be today!”. So I was there besides her all the way, except when I went to the mamak for my dinner because I knew it’s

Missing: Update

It is the most terrorizing experience for any parents to endure when a child is missing. Being a father myself, i pray that this will nerver ever happen to us. The missing girl was finally found waiting in a car, while the alleged kidnapper was having dinner at a stall with an accomplice. I was told that the girl befriended with this 21 year old man 3 days prior to incident through the Internet. The man asked her out and she obliged. She has bruises on her face when was found, probably sustained as she refused to any physical contact with the man. Luckily there was no sign of any sexual abuse. The police was quick to respond on the situation. The man was nabbed and remanded. As the girl is still underage, he will get severe punishment for the crime. Though probably the man was just having fun, it was no fun to the family. .n.g.

Missing

One of our colleague's daughter has been missing for more than 24 hours and a police report has been made this morning. She is 14 years old. May Allah help her and the familly. All my prayers to you Suria. .n.g.

December

Image
Here come December. Holiday Season. End of the year, and New Year. And i will be a year older. This was the best time to watch movies as i remembered. Sleepless in Seattle, December 93 in Leeds. A movie spans from Thanks Giving, Xmas and New Year. A movie that i remember so much because of the immaculate sound tracks. Exactly after Christmas 93, i went to NYC, Syracuse and Boston. And i went to see the Empire State Building with my own eyes as portrayed in the movie. It could be fun if i can scan some of those photos and post them here. We didn't have digital camera back then. Park View, Leeds Dec 93 - Oh dear, i look funny with long hair and big glasses!! p/s: Because of Facebook, we are still in touch! p/s2: In this picture, is my wife's school mate, Yatie Long. At that  time i have no idea who would i be married to. Rupa2 school mate jiran sebelah .. hahahah .n.g.

2012

Image
Finally i managed to get the ticket for the show. It was B13 2nd row from the screen at 11:15am Saturday morning show. Crazy isn't it? OK don't ask me why i didn't book online as i thought for a movie that has been screened for more than 17 days will not have such a crowd. 2012, AWESOME! Yes, the digital effects were superb to the maximum. Even though Revenge of the Fallen was quite OK in terms of the effect, 2012 has more 'contents' in it. ROTHF is more like watching 'besi bergumpal-gumpal berlawan sesama sendiri' as uttered by friends. The story line is more or less the same as Deep Impact and the Day After Tomorrow; it is about family values and friendship. Kind of ironic as we value family, friendship as when we are facing troubles. While i was in queue for the ticket (read: singular @ watching alone), i heard this few girls behind were saying, "alaa, must get the tickets for New Moon jugak .. jangan la habiiisss" .. i was like, heeyyy

I Googled Myself

Out of curiosity, for the first time ever i Googled myself. Top of the list, i was relieved as it shows my Facebook account. At least i am on the top of the world, say to speak. Scrolling down, a not so good notation of Nazim Ab Ghani; it says "Nazim Among 13 Killed In Suicide Hit". Scary isn't it? As if my obituary had been written in advance. I will not dare to look further on the next page, fearing for something even worse. :) Seems i dont have much to do dimalam Raya Yang Mulia ini .. and i forgot to call my parents and it is 10pm already .. oh no!! .n.g.

Clueless

There will be times in our lifetime that we become clueless and confused. It is too obvious this evening when i took the shampoo and rubbed them on my face (no kidding!!). Then i realized, there must be something, sub-consciously troubled me for the last few days. I still remember when i wrote something like 'Do whatever you think is right today, but never regret when it is wrong the next day'. I did exactly the same thing, except it was 'wrong' a few hours after that. And i still remember when Julia Robert sent an email from her best friend's father in-law to be, and realized it was a stupid and crazy thing to do. Yup, it was something like that. People do stupid and crazy things, i must admit, and i am no exception. That someone probably 'forbid' me from that usual communication we had, until i can get some kind of clues that i have been 'unforbidden'?? This time, i really need to 'Renung2kan lah' onto myself .. :) Selamat Hari Raya

Atom Smasher: the Big Bang Machine

Image
I read the morning news today with mixed feelings; happy because such a gigantic leap in science has been achieved; sad because a disaster can happen anytime. Imagine smashing 2 proton beams inside a 27-km long underground tunnel, beneath the French-Swiss border at the speed of light. The machine is called Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The idea is to re-create the Big Bang explosion that the scientists believe as the origin of the universe. I do not know the details of the experiment, but it does sound scary. The experiment is conducted by scientists at the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) and cost a whopping USD10 billion!! A Big-Bang beneath the mountains of French-Swiss border? I will not go near any of those countries. :) Renung-renungkan lah, dan selamat beramal!! p/s: will try to catch 2012 this week, probably related to this experiment? .n.g.

Babybot - Coming Soon to You!

Babybot shall land on earth anytime soon just like the autobots. If he landed on Hari Raya Aidil Adha, i have vowed not to name him Aidil Adha or such .. (but Aidil Zaquan sounds nice ... but sound familiar as well, hhmm). Nonetheless, be hold you decepticons. As the babybot shall prevail and protect the human kind .. hukhuk ... All in all, hope everything will be fine, insyaAllah .. pray for us! .n.g.

What AP?

Image
AP is nothing new to me. We bring millions worth of radar and radio equipment and naturally this requires AP or Approval Permit. With a single letter or we call it End-User Statement from the government, it takes less than a week to get the AP. AP is just a piece of paper. To the public, AP sounds like a 'holy' word. Understandably, they always associate AP with imported cars. It seems that whoever can get hold of this piece of 'toilet paper', they can make money by selling it to those who genuinely want to bring in the cars. OK, where am i going with this entry? There are AP holder who sell AP in bulk, especially to car distributor such as DRB-HICOM (Honda Jazz is imported from Thailand) or AutoConnexion (Ford Focus is from the Phillipines). But this same AP holder also sells to small time car importers for 5 APs or more. This is what being practice in the local AP society. When someone comes to you and said he only sell AP for say 200 APs and above. It sounds fishy.

My First Million

Image
Looks like my first million (RM) is getting harder and takes longer to achieve. Do you know how to self calculate your first million? It must be on your "Net worth", not on how much cash you have. Ok, this is just a basic calculation: Networth = Asset - Liability (Asset = Cash, Houses, Cars, Jeweleries, Art & Collectibles, Stocks, Bonds, unit trusts, EPF etc.) (Liability = Home loan, car loan, credit cards debts etc.) note: you can also add how much you spend every year on households and "bots", but normally you don't. Looking at the above equation, you don't need to be a mathematician to understand that every year the liability increases. Though some assets like houses increase, you still get depreciation value on cars and relative value (up and down) on stocks or unit trusts. There you go. While someone i know is getting a Nissan Fairlady for a ride, i am still far away from my first million. But this is blessing in disguise. I will work

Market Penetration

Image
Suddenly, my blog hits have reached to a staggering average number of .. yes .. 5 unique visitors per day. Well, it is such a huge success for me as this is an increase of 70% from the previous average of 3 unique visitors per day. If i were in a corporate world, 70% increase means promotion to Senior Vice President .. While i am celebrating this huge phenomenon success on my side (no i cant celebrate the N9 winning feat of Piala Malaysia), i keep pondering on how i can successfully promote my blog. Definitely readers are looking for something new, and sensational. I am not 'cute' or handsome, and definitely a turn off to female readers .. ha ha. The last time i had readers from Australia, and this last 2 days, i have a reader from NYC!! Look at my visitors' map. *so proud* .n.g.

N9 vs Kelantan: The Good, The Bad and the Bengong

Image
We knew the result. We have seen the game. We have also seen the 'unneeded' exposures to the youngsters. Enough said, we do not need sports when chaos is what we expect. There are two parties involved; the fans and the authorities. First of all, how the hell it was possible for the Kelantan fans to fill 3/4 of the stadiums? As we can expect, when one side felt superior, then they feel like at home. Hence the unruly behaviour that we saw. Was it possible that the N9 knew they gonna win and therefore sold the tickets to the Kelantan fans (with some profits of course)? We have always seen how the finals in Wembley were held, and we could see how the two teams were well divided into two sides of the stadium. The FAM, hired 1500 RELA to monitor the situation. The gates were open as early as 5pm. If they had put 10 RELA at each gate to check every single bags and did a thorough body check, i am quite sure this can be completed before 8pm. Remember Wembley can occupy 100,000 fans

When Someone Screwed Up

It's a RM2.8mil contract to a French company. Do you know how long did it take for me to finalize the contract agreement? two weeks of sleepless night!! And someone that was supposed to format the document took the older version, format that document and converted to PDF. I was preoccupied with something else and didnt have time to check. Consequently we sent the wrong document to Paris. I had to call the Sales and Marketing Director of Sofrelog, an EADS company to apologize on the mistake. Luckily he accepted my explaination, simply because we have been working together for the last 4 years. My lesson today, check every single document before sending out though you have given the right document first time. People tend to screw up as they don't really care. They are not in charge but YOU are! This is my second entry today. That shows how stressed i am today! Well, seems that Chuck Season 2 is a good program to watch now. A Bientot! .n.g.

Crazy or Not Crazy?

Through out my life, i came out with many crazy ideas. Most of the time out of nowhere. The most frequent and famous of all time is from within the toilet. Yes, toilet or a better word should we say the "restroom" (for the sake of younger reader ie. 27 and below). Somehow, for those who don't really know me, they once labeled me as "strange", "weird" and "slow". OK, we are here not to talk about what those people think, but rather on how my instinctively crazy weird idea is somehow accepted by a friend! Yes, i told him to write a book, and he was like jumping up and down on this simplest idea. Strange but true! (so can i say he is as crazy as i am?) What would be more exciting is that i would be writing probably a few lines for every chapters or may be on some arrangement that we have not decided. We'll see then how it goes. So where's the manuscript my friend?!! .n.g.

7th Anniversary

It's our 7th Anniversary today, though i have to keep reminded her that 1st November is always the day based on akad nikad, whereas she insisted that the 3rd Nov is the day based on reception in PJ. Well, who want to be judge here? please put your comment here. "Should the wedding Anniversary be based on akad nikah or wedding reception?" we have not concluded this for the last 7 years people!! help! .n.g.

MCR I Dont Love You

It took me so long to realize that this song is about how women should leave their bf/lovers or whatsoever when they are being abused. MCR includes so many of tragedy in their songs, as Welcome to the Black Parade talks about the 9/11. These phrases say it all: Sometimes I cry so hard from pleading So sick and tired of all the needless beating But baby when they knock you Down and out It's where you oughta stay And after all the blood that you still owe Another dollar's just another blow So fix your eyes and get up Better get up While you can

D24 (the Durian)

I almost forgot how delicious, juicy, succulent a durian can be. Enjoying 'alone' probably is a way to go. For a RM10 per kg, u can taste something "almost-heavenly" fruit u can get. Next try, it's gonna be D88. Must be quick before the season ends. How come it tasted differently today??! .n.g.

When Privacy Is Concerned

Everyone needs their own privacy. It is the only time we can think of our self, our own problem, our own road ahead ... our own recovery, from hardship, heartache or even success story. Funny, I had not heard anyone ever said they had never been battered. I had never heard they were always at ease. I guess hardship is the way to live our life. It is how we get stronger everyday. Myself, need to learn to let go the past, and even sometimes friends that i dear the most. It is how the world works. Something good will not last forever. Something bad, will not last forever either. The End. .n.g.

Luqman Is 4!!

Image
It was 1pm on the 9th of October 2005. It was Ramadhan and i need to send Malik back home because we have been waiting in the labour room for like 2 hours now. Well, i was there before when Malik was born and it took more than 4 hours before he showed his head. So i decided to go home and put my head down for just a few minutes before zuhur prayer. Then the phone rang, it was Lolo's voice, "Eh Nini nak beranak dah nih!!". I rushed back to Pantai Hospital and when i arrived, i see smilling faces but where's the baby? Was it still in there (perut lah)? My mom in-law quickly said, "pegi tengok kat luar tu, dia tgk bersihkan". There he was. Before i could quickly check the fingers, he smiled with 2 dimples! so prominent that i could not stop laughing! Then i took him and azan on the right side of his ear. I am still searching for the first day photos that we took that day. I lost my handphone and not sure if they are still somewhere on one of the backup CDs.

Between TV and Antenna

You wouldn't know how close you are to rocket science until you could figure out that you can just simply stuck a steel hanger to the back of a TV and get such an excellent reception. I, on the other hand, had proved that rocket science is what we are made of from our day to day experience. I guess people at NASA had tried using paper clips, stapler bullets, coins and whatnot (eerr, borrowed writing style from someone here ;-)) in order to boost the signal on their space shuttle. What make me sad about the mentality of our Malaysian is that they have always undermined the magic of simple solution. Rest assured, project "creep" is based on paper clips, stapler bullets, coins and whatnot (oh not again ... ish i could be summoned for this!!). .n.g.

Starting Next Week ...

ok, when i said next week, it means after Raya. These are the things that i plan to do or not to do after raya: 1. Sleep early coz i need to wake up early and feel fresh at work. 2. Read and understand every single things that i do (coz sometimes i dont even know what i'm doing) 3. Slowly moving out to the new house (i like this one) 4. 20mins walk every alternate day after work. 5. Eat fruits in the morning. 6. Take my calcium+vit C drinks once a day. 7. No more Facebook or what so ever unless someone send me a message. 8. No more makan2 sedap that can make me gain back the 2 kilos i lost during puasa. 9. No more super cold ice drink but subtitute with 7 glasses of plain warm water. 10. No more pointless kacau2 member kat gmail/YM especially when they repeatedly write "ttyl" or "busy busy" :-) The above points should give me strength and focus on the RM15mil project that i am handling. This blog will be quiet for a while. Take care and Selamat

What About Men and Cars

This is a theory that i promised a friend to write about (seems like my blog is gaining popularity, duh!). Nothing fancy but truthfully spot on. Men naturally are so into cars; be it a student, executive, teacher, uncle, uztaz or Dato' Seri (maaf Dato'). These men painstakingly drill into magazines, talk to friends, ask their love ones and even their pets, just to make sure that they will find the right car. It takes years of searching, and soul searching too. Ironically, an independant survey in the UK (sorry i dont have a link to prove) revealed that men consider the new car as 'new' for only 7 months. On the 8th month, they start looking at the latest cars, buying car magazines, going to auto shows etc. This survey shows that men can't stick to something or let subtitute the car with a person; for more than 7 months. How true when it comes to relationship, love and marriage too. So ladies, be carefull when you reached the 8th month of your relationship, eng

Which Ever Way We May Choose

There is no answer for everything. There will never be. We may decide on something yesterday, and knowing it was a wrong one the next day. A friend was asking about what will be the best next step to take, and i really can't give any answer. What i can tell, choose which ever you think it is right today, but never regret if it is a wrong one tomorrow. I guess, everybody lives to make a choice. But which one? .n.g.

Project "Creep"

Image
It is one of the most 'top secret' project in town. With only 8 months left, we have to work our ass out like lizards! There goes my 'lazy' time watching youtube or Nur Kasih online. As surprised as others in the boot camp, i was appointed as the Project Manager. Why they need me as the Project Manager is quite mindboggling. Probably the analytical mind that i possess or probably someone that they can blame on when something goes wrong? What ever may be, i know i can do it. Though the challenge is an uphill task, as we have no proven platform to begin with. I can imagine how disastrous it could be. Nevertheless, Project "Creep" kicked-off with such positive attitudes. Beware smugglers, pirates and illegal immigrant! We Are Watching!! .n.g.

Student's Credit Card Dilemma

I read a column in the Bizweek section of the Star newspaper this morning and came across the issue on pre-paid credit cards. Apparently, there are so many hidden charges that most of the consumers unaware of. That includes activation charges that can go up to RM25.00, inactive card charges (this one is teribbly wrong) and some other silly excuses for the bank to charge you. Therefore i would suggest for students to opt for Student's Credit Card facilities that are offered by some of the popular banks in town. Nevertheless, parents are still required to endorse the application. Why do i write about credit cards? Because i was thinking that i probably can write on how to manage your credit card debt in the coming future. I surely have many experience on this one. .n.g.

Student Car Insurance Anyone?

I never thought that I would be writing this out. But hey, i am a concerned father. For most countries in the US and Europe, they have special insurance for students under 25 years old. Their premium is higher but the coverage is something you have to look into it. I am no insurance agent so i have no idea if this has been implemented in Malaysia. What i do know, in the UK the premium for anyone below 25 are higher because of the risk the posses. Again, i have no idea why i am writing about insurance today. This is out of the blue. Sleep anyone? *evil dooze* p/s: A Project Manager shouldn't be writting this kind of article. .n.g.

1st Ramadhan and Malik's Birthday Bash

Image
'Selamat Menyambut Ramadhan' to all Muslims. We had our first iftar at rumah Mak Teh, together with other family members. This was like our standard practice for the last, i don't know, for many years i guess. At the end of the event, we were having Malik's 6th birthday bash. Every young ones took turn to blow the candles. Now, let's start a countdown for Syawal!! .n.g.

The Radar Antenna

I have nothing fancy to write today. Therefore, instead i am writing something that will make most of you fall asleep. The Purpose of the radar is to act as a transducer between free-space propagation and guided-wave (transmission-line) propagation. The function of the antenna during transmission is to concentrate to the radiated energy into a shaped beam which points in the desired direction in space. On reception the antenna collects the energy contained in the echo signal and delivers in to the receiver. Thus the radar antenna is called upon to fulfill reciprocal but related roles. Well, did i manage to make you sleepy? Now go to sleep!! .n.g.

It Is OK to Forget!

Image
There are reasons on why human must forget. The brain is designed to accept certain input and input overflow can cause a person to become insane, lost, metally ill etc. Have you ever watched a movie called Rain Man, where Dustin Hoffman could memorize the whole Yellow Pages but can barely manage himself? That is what happened when there are too much input but no output. Our brain can only accept a certain amount of information at one go. To be able to add more input, we must erase some and hence we tend to forget. So be glad when you are forgetting of something. As we humans are referred as "an-nas" in the holy Quran, which means "the forgetful ones". That's why you can see certain "ayat" are being repeated in the same "surah". This is to show how weak and forgetful we are! Nevertheless, be thankful! p/s: Looks like i am forgetting something down there .. hehe .n.g.

Introducing AUTIPOT!!

Image
It sounds like a brutal, savage kind of robot. But don't be fool you human! This AUTIPOT is a new breed of human-like ... eerr food! Coined by the ever popular autobot (my own autobot) named Luq-Skydudu. Huhu, it took us long before we can understand that AUTIPOT is in fact LOLLIPOP! .n.g.

Chasing Meteor Shower

I might be lucky tonite. All depending on how clear is the sky. I don't have a decent camera with me to capture the moment, especially when low light is concerned. I have so many things in my wish list .. or "to buy" list. A DSLR is one of it. Who wants to wish upon stars or meteor showers? .n.g.

Yellow

Image
Colours give me different vibes. Today i choose YELLOW. First thing in my mind, yellow reminds me of DIGI Yellow Man. OK, i have to admit that they had successfully tagged yellow with their products into our mind. But digging further inside me, the song "Yellow" by Coldplay struck into me. I somehow rather clueless about the meaning of the lyrics. Nevertheless, i sang this song to my sons when they were babies. (oh they both had "yellow" @ jaundice). And what so meaningful yesterday, i could play the song again in my car .. thank goodness!! Feel like i've told this story to someone before ... DE JAVU !! hehe ... By the way, Chris Martin (of Coldplay) explained that he was inspired by Yellow Pages. I can understand why .. hehe. If you've been to Eiffel Tower, then you probably have seen the stairs above. Yellow, Lyrics and Song by Coldplay. Enjoy!! .n.g. Look at the stars, Look how they shine for you, And everything you do, Yeah, they were all

He's All Grown Up!

Image
Malik will be 6 years old on 21st August 2009. Time has gone by, too fast. I still remember when i had my first outing alone with him, just the two of us. He just turned 1 that time. He can't even walk. But he started to talk at such early age. He first called me 'ayah' when he was 9 months old. Then the rest, are just history. He can memorize all the car's logo that are belong to the family members when he was 16 months old. A Nissan signboard will make him quickly say ayah. A Honda advert in a paper and he will say Atuk or a Proton logo somewhere and he will say mama. I wish i could write every single thing that he had done for the last six years, but that is virtually impossible. As for me, i will remember every moment .. not the day itself. Happy 6th Birthday Malik! .n.g. p/s: Ayah loves u so much!

We Can Only Do So Much

I always emphasize that this blog is about reminding myself, it should not reflect on other people. As we just human, who are we to judge people. As much as i want, i want to be kind to everyone. But how far can we go? When people ask for help, most of the time every human are willing to help. It is just natural. It will motivate you that the fact you have done a good deed. But i bet everyone had experience when while you are giving the help, the person you are helping makes you feel as if you are the one who wanting to help instead. In simple Malay "terhegeh-hegeh nak menolong". I reckon this is one of the reason why we see today people are "reluctant" to help. We are scared. We don't want to be labelled "terhegeh-hegeh". And i can understand why because i've felt the same for so many times. But did i ever quit? No. Because we can only do so much. We can't decide for everything. We can't tell people what to think. Be Kind. Be Nice

Paris 2006

Image
Paris has always been my favourite place to go. Been there twice in 2005 and 2006. Though i've lived in the UK from 92-96, it never crossed my mind to visit Paris until recently. Though my recent visit to Paris was due to work. Why do i like Paris? No 1 - It's a unique city. No 2 - The language. French somehow gives a different feel whenever i hear it. There are too many places to go. If ever i would feel weary, this is definitely a place i want to be. How about Paris next week? .n.g.

American Tune

Not many people knew or have heard about this song. But definitely one the best of tunes around for decades. The melody and the lyric are just spot on! It is about a Jewish immigrant living in New York. Heck! i can i always look it as a Kelantanese immigrant living in KL or rather PJ. .n.g. Words & Music by Paul Simon Manys the time Ive been mistaken And many times confused Yes, and often felt forsaken And certainly misused Oh, but Im alright, Im alright Im just weary to my bones Still, you dont expect to be Bright and bon vivant So far a-way from home, so far away from home I dont know a soul whos not been battered I dont have a friend who feels at ease I dont know a dream thats not been shattered Or driven to its knees Oh, but its alright, its alright For we lived so well so long Still, when I think of the Road were traveling on I wonder whats gone wrong I cant help it, I wonder whats gone wrong And I dreamed I was dying I dreamed that my soul rose unex

Inspired to Run

I always wanted to run again. My back will not allow me to force myself to run as i used to. Unexpectedly today, i read a blog from a man who is twice my age yet still having the spirit to run a marathon. He had been in coma a few years back due to an accident. i will write more later. it is time to run (or rather walk!) Ok, i just finished my 20 min walk. It is a combination of slow walk and fast walk. I will keep this pace for a week then only i will add to 30 min walk. This will last for a few weeks until i am ready to run again. Since Ramadhan is coming, a night walk would be nice. Feel free to check this blog http://oldmanrunning.org .n.g.

Kota Bharu Day 1 Part 2

Image
We arrived in Machang at about 4:30pm. I have two sisters whose houses are side by side. They bought 2 acres of hilly land and divided into two. Half of the land was flattened and they built two 1-storey bungalows. The other half was left untouched, upon which it becoming the orchard for durian, rambutan and cempedak. The durian "belum masak". so we only had rambutan left. The trees were full of "kerengga", so we cut off the trunks with fruits. Since i was craving for durian, my brother in-law did get me special "local durian" from deep inside the village. It is just durian kampung but i am very sure it taste diffently. So we off to Kota Bharu at 6pm and arrived at my parents house at 7pm. Our initial plan was to meet Mek Ta @ Dr Nik Azrita at White House at 10pm. For those who are not familiar with White House, it is an old style kopitiam which had been in the same place since the early 70s. It is exactly in front of the Masjid Besar Kota Bharu. I use

Kota Bharu Day 1 Part 1

We were scheduled to depart at 9am. My instruction to the two bots were to sleep early (successful) and to wake up early (unsuccessful). The two bots decided to take extra sleep while i decided to figure out if i could repair my car receiver. I opened the bonet (that's hood if u live in the States). Took out the fuse box lid. By using a long nose plier, i pulled the fuse, it says 15A correspond to the label "radio". I was testing my luck, rotated the fuse 180 degree. Now the label 15A reads upside down. Heck, i was trying my luck. I had done my trial and error with electronics worth millions of ringgit (sshhh .. don't tell anyone). So a trial and error for a cheapo receiver posed no harm. Then "voila!!" ... the receiver worked! After 4 months of no entertainment in the car, finally i could have a decent entertainment and keep my saving for PSP. Not for me, but for the bots. So now we could enjoy the trip with some easy listening. next, Part 2. n.g.

Time to Change

Image
It is sickening everytime when i think about how i am being underpaid by my employer. the fact that there are less than 3 companies in Malaysia that can do what we can do today. still, we are paid just like any other IT company. heck! we are working with radar systems, electronic warfare and such. the cost of each of the equipment is mindboggling but the company treat us as if we are installing desktop computers and servers. It is not just about the amount of work that we give, but it is more about the expertise, knowledge and experience we have. this 3 elements can be easily exported to the competitor (by the means of hiring us with tripple pay!). Our bosses just dont realise this, until one day we would say "au revoir!" and they would say something like "oh, we just eat our own shit! the competitor can do what we always do!". just wait and see ... the pictures below say everything. ordinary company just don't do this. .n.g.

A Trip Back to Kota Bharu

Image
this will be my first trip back to Kota Bharu for almost 1 year. last time was hari raya puasa 2008. mak oi, what kind of son (SOB may b?) am i? yes, i had my reasons. 1st, after raya, i was tide up with projects until Feb 09. then my wife was finishing her thesis until April. then right afterwards i had 3 proposals to do. now i have to rush back because; puasa is less than a month from now. by raya, my wife's stomach will be bigger, growing and kicking from the inside. i supposed a baby is doing it for fun f rom the inside. probably testing the wall. and then, durian season is a good thing. my sisters have durian trees just behind the house. this will be a good time to go to White House, Sun Too and Ayam Percik Yatie. Wah, can i do all this in a short time? We'll see then! .n.g. p/s: A red Golf GTI would be fun .. hhhmmm .. plus two game boys in hand.

Is there a Theory of Everything? by Dr Michio Kaku

Image
i came across this article from Dr Michio Kaku, a reknown physicist. i've read a lot of journals, watched so many Discovery Channels and National Geographics programmes on the Theory of Everything, yet i still have not come across a good article to explain it all from A to Z. even wikipedia is not so convincing this time (wikipedia has been my favourite on other topics). i hope this blog eventually can shed some lights on this theory as i gather more articles and journals. for a start, let's read this article from Dr Michio Kaku. Dr. Michio Kaku, Professor of Theoretical Physics at the City University of New York, is the author of VISIONS: HOW SCIENCE WILL REVOLUTIONIZE THE 21ST CENTURY and the best-seller HYPERSPACE. [begin of article] When I was a child, I used to visit the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco. I would spend hours fascinated by the carp, who lived in a very shallow pond just inches beneath the lily pads, just beneath my fingers, totally o blivious to t

i want this ride!

Image
i can't help it whenever i see a VW Golf MkV GTI. whether it's red or white. they are just too sexy! awesome! my target is to get one of these in 2 years time. a used one probably. but two things need to be taken into account first; debt and money. these two things always come hand in hand. first i need to make full settlement on my current ride. oh i am too shame to tell my current ride. it is like an 'uncle' kind of ride. with a wife and two boys + one in the making, this ride gives ample space and comfort. but a long drive back to Kota Bharu is just killing me. second, i need somehow to increase my income instead of reducing my expenses. i am already frugal with my expenses. same shoes for the last one and half year tell you everything. looking at the current economy, no chance for promotion. the only way is to "jump ship"! i am impressed with a female friend who takes two jobs, a full time and a part time job. she is a superwoman *wink2*. i might no

Social Obligation

I had promised to a friend, an avid blogger, that i would start putting something significant to my blog. So, here it is, my first "social obligation". As promise is a promise. I had a meeting today. We were hosting to a few "industrial leading" local defence/military solution provider. This meeting was initiated by the Ministry of Defence (Malaysia of course) as a working group to spearhead development of our own products. The bad part, i was appointed as the secretariat of the working group. Yes, a secretary with no skirt is not what people expected. The good part, i was sitting with most of the hot shots, where opportunity to 'jump ship' is even closer whenever big project is secured. When i said big project, it is at least RM50mil and above. Big project means big incentive. The ugly part, i can't stand when someone who has a prefix with 'Dr' would think he knows everything. If you struggle to explain on a terminology, then you still h
