The Donkey Year 2011


First of all, i'm not sure whether there is such a year called Donkey Year .. but for me 2011 deserved to be called in a way. Misery year? Family and friends know better. But why donkey? When i was young, i was kind of puzzled why someone would use a donkey for transportation. Only now i understood that a donkey is stronger than a hundred men (ok may be not be a hundred). Though they make so much noise, they are strong and serve the purpose well. They climb hills and mountains effortlessly. They make noise not because they complaining, instead they love what they do.

So Donkey Year is for those who love working hard and sometime make noise .. eh? 18 months of patience and perseverance though did not serve my objective of being financially independence does not make me a failure. For me, the lesson learned is much invaluable.

For sickness and poorer, only for those who understand. And for that one person who did not stand by me during the 18 months, may Allah bless her for the rest of her life.

And wait!! i will be 40 on the 1st January 2012. So life does begin at 40 after all -.-"

It is sickening everytime when i think about how i am being underpaid by my employer. the fact that there are less than 3 companies in Malaysia that can do what we can do today. still, we are paid just like any other IT company. heck! we are working with radar systems, electronic warfare and such. the cost of each of the equipment is mindboggling but the company treat us as if we are installing desktop computers and servers. It is not just about the amount of work that we give, but it is more about the expertise, knowledge and experience we have. this 3 elements can be easily exported to the competitor (by the means of hiring us with tripple pay!). Our bosses just dont realise this, until one day we would say "au revoir!" and they would say something like "oh, we just eat our own shit! the competitor can do what we always do!". just wait and see ... the pictures below say everything. ordinary company just don't do this. .n.g.

Market Penetration

Suddenly, my blog hits have reached to a staggering average number of .. yes .. 5 unique visitors per day. Well, it is such a huge success for me as this is an increase of 70% from the previous average of 3 unique visitors per day. If i were in a corporate world, 70% increase means promotion to Senior Vice President .. While i am celebrating this huge phenomenon success on my side (no i cant celebrate the N9 winning feat of Piala Malaysia), i keep pondering on how i can successfully promote my blog. Definitely readers are looking for something new, and sensational. I am not 'cute' or handsome, and definitely a turn off to female readers .. ha ha. The last time i had readers from Australia, and this last 2 days, i have a reader from NYC!! Look at my visitors' map. *so proud* .n.g.

Is there a Theory of Everything? by Dr Michio Kaku

i came across this article from Dr Michio Kaku, a reknown physicist. i've read a lot of journals, watched so many Discovery Channels and National Geographics programmes on the Theory of Everything, yet i still have not come across a good article to explain it all from A to Z. even wikipedia is not so convincing this time (wikipedia has been my favourite on other topics). i hope this blog eventually can shed some lights on this theory as i gather more articles and journals. for a start, let's read this article from Dr Michio Kaku.
